Hwans here :D Okay, I know I don't normally do this :/ But Ash & Char hasn't been to class lately due to the Borello workshop thing. So I guess I'll try updating about what's going on the past week (: Correct me if there's any mistakes or have I left out anything (:

updates for week 6:

IDS: Assignment 3 deadline is 2nd jan 2009

CD: Reminder that there is presentation on the upcoming thursday, those who are not presenting must turn up because u will also be graded for self-reflections**

DT: Storyboard assignment part one is extended till the upcoming monday, view details in blackboard on extactly what to submit. Part 2 is due on 6 dec. Also, get your ordered notes from Ash/Char on Monday on "how to draw manga figures". They will help u to composite your comics for part two of assignment.

VDS: Photography assignment deadline is 31st and 14 jan 08/09, Typography is due 8th Jan 09, The upcoming lesson on wed is replaced by a photoshoot thingy, we are supposed to meet at the foyer at t11A if im not wrong; details to be updated soon. There is also a exhibition outing at douby ghaut on the upcoming thursday. Do not be late. Details also to be updated again.

DS: People going for the workshop MUST submit the form on Monday please. You are excused from lessons from tuesday to friday. Rest of the class will be doing watercolour lessons. Remember to pay $2.50 to Ash if u havent paid. Owe Money Pay Money!

Misc: Those who submitted the photograph for "A tale of two cities" please send Char an email with the following details in the sms sent out to you all. by Sunday.

Theme: Typo Photography
Brief: Students to discuss on chosen theme/approach and shoot in their photography groups.

1)Typography application(create interesting use of typography)
or
2) Typeface design (Typo from A - Z in any selected theme).

Discuss in your Groups on the theme of what to shoot before wed/thurs.

PLAN YOUR IDEAS VISUALLY IN SKETCHES FIRST!
If your group is quite big, you may split into smaller groups to work on separate themes.

NOTE:
To take part in the photography exhibition for "A tale of 2 cities", photos must be printed and mounted by MONDAY, check with ms shirlynn regarding the mounting, photos to be printed 8 by 10 inches.

Updates for last week:

DT1:
get ready 3 life story ideas for tomorrow's(10/11) lesson. Also, download the story proposal and storyboard template from blackboard if you haven't.

IDS:
Assignment 3 brief is up on blackboard.

HCD:
We're supposed to find 5 examples of graphic design works that incorporate our group's specific design history genre into their works. (Eg. Victorian, Post-modernism.. etc). As long as the works are kind of a "revival" from the design movement, they're counted. (Show pictures of the works and name of the designers)

DS:
Colour visual, and visuals for art piece are to be shown to Ms Huei by the coming tuesday. Bring whatever reference materials, colour materials etc. that you need so that you can do colour visuals during lesson as well.

CD:
Please print out the CD form, fill in the details, and pass them either to Charmaine or Ashlyn to collate and give to Ms Huei. Presentation for CD case study starts on Week 6!

VDS:
Get your 108 photographs on standby, choose 10 best shots to hand in to Shirlynn on the upcoming thursday (13/11). Remember to research on your favourite photographers .. (even though she hasn't mentioned it for a while...)

Here's an update on the VDS Fruit shots.
Get you 108 shots ready by 13th November and choose the best 10 to submit to Shirlynn.

Remember, we'll be having a photography trip at Chinatown on Wednesday (5/11/08) as part of our VDS lesson.

We will be meeting at Raffles Place MRT station at 1pm sharp. 15 minutes grace only for the latecomers. So don't be late!!

I'm not sure if photography is allowed for the exhibition but after the visit, we are going around the town area and shoot! We will probably be shooting until 8 or 9pm (if you are up for night sceneries, do bring your tripod along :)
