Hello people! Here are the weekly updates again:

1. Monday marks the end of torture by BB. So get everything ready, latest submission by 1.30pm.
Things to prepare:
- All the boards that you have prepared previously for the interium presentation
- Mock ups of collaterals, neatly packed into an envelope
- Report, which consist of brand DNA, logo rationale, sketches of development, and your learning journey for DT (500 words)
- 2 CDs, labelled. 1 for CI manual, which should include your logo and other colour variations. 1 for report, which should include all working files (logo, collaterals, paraphernalia), soft copy of report content. All to be organised into folders please.

2. MLP report is due this week

3. Read DT2 assignment 1b brief, and bring something to show to Lau Lau on thursday. He wants to see some progress.

4. CROWBAR DEADLINE IS ON THURSDAY!!

Hello people! Here's the weekly update again:

1. Interium presentation is on Monday at 8.15am. Please be in school by 8am, and get the following ready:
- One full colour logo, A4, mounted with 3cm border (include logo in smallest size at the corner)
- One signature logo, A4, mounted
- One more signature logo, loose sheet, for the client to bring back
- Colour codes in CMYK for logo in full colour, greyscale and black & white; A4, mounted
- Full presentation of logo applications on collaterals & paraphernalia, A3, mounted (you can have more that 1 sheet)

Remember to include your label at the back of the board, bottom right corner.

2. MLP report deadline's postponed to week 7, which means 2 more weeks!

3. 3DMV assignment deadline's postponed too, to week 11, after the holidays.

4. DT2: Media Image Read report is due on thurday, at 9pm. Check BB or your email for more info. And if there's anything else for DT2, would a kind soul update it too yeah? i wasn't present for lau's lesson ):

5. Not forgetting submissions for Crowbar. The official deadline for crowbar is on 5th June. However, if you want Ms Shirlynn to submit it for you, please pass it to her latest latest latest by the 1st of june. i think >< All the best! (:

Hello people! Here's the weekly update:

1. Please get ready your paraphernalia done for BB by Monday. Get your mock ups done too, so that you can show something to the client.

2. Deadline for MLP is coming soon in 2 weeks time, on the 25th. Get cracking!

3. Deadline for 3DMV is coming soon too on the 29th. Choose something and get it approved by Jenson Chew soon!

4. CC's test is this coming Friday. Refill your creative juices!

5. IMPORTANT! Donation card thingy is due this WEDNESDAY! Be nice and collect at least a dollar alright? And remember to submit it on Wednesday! :D

6. And for those who weren't present for the Crowbar brief, lecturers' consultation hours are:
Mondays: 5 to 7pm
Thursdays: 10am to 12 noon
Venue: Hive 2

Book the lecturers in advance!

Thanks Makiyo for explaining about the issue with the monthly class birthday thingy!!

I just wanna add on, it's alright if your present doesn't cost much. Even a simple note on a paper could show more sincerity than a really expensive gift. Imagine getting a hand written note from every classmate, wouldn't that be nice? Heh.. So i hope you guys would try this system for a few more months? If it really doesn't work out, we'll gladly change (:


Anyhow, this is this week's update on your homework:

1. By Monday's BDS lesson:
- BB's logo should be all confirmed and finalised, including all the colour schemes
- Moodboard should be printed on A4
- Plan out what you want for BB's paraphernalia

2. DTS's assignment 1 deadline is DUE this FRIDAY, 15TH!

3. Start searching for an object to work on for 3DMV.

4. Start working on the preliminary report for MLP.


And plese be reminded that the Ezlink card mass replacement thingy is conducted from 11 May to 15 May 2009 at the Convention Hall (basement level) from 8.30am to 5.30pm. Please check your SP email (ichat) for your SERIAL NUMBER and for more details (though i have no idea how to log in). The SERIAL NUMBER is required for the collection.

Hi!

I'm here to update on the current status of class fund as of May 08.

$2 was collected from every one in the class, so we had a total sum of $36 for May babies presents.

$36 - $4.80 (2 Singpost parcels) - $30 (Prima Deli's cake) = $1.20 (Remaining class fund)

The extra money we had for every 2 birthday babies month can use to offset for the parcels for the month of 3 birthday babies. So it'll only be $2 for every month for birthday.

I realized despite the cake was 1kg, it wasn't able to feed all of the 18 of us. So maybe we should switch to other cake shop alternatives. Anybody knows of where we can get cakes below $30, and it's delicious and big? It's even better when we can bargain to lower the price with the person like if we can sign an agreement of buying a cake every month from them. Hahaha! Just a suggestion though.

As for the money issue on the presents, I understand it may be quite costly compared to the last year's system where everyone just chipped in a dollar for every one person's birthday. Cerlyn has suggested the idea so it works on the theme of birthday mail. I believe it's more sincere and personal too.

Let's think of this way, instead of the Angel and Mortal game we had last year, the money spent buying gifts for your mortal was brought over to the birthday babies instead. Although it might cost a little more this time. But isn't giving gifts more on about making someone's day, rather than concerning on the values? I understand some of us here may not afford to take on this idea. It's not compulsory for everyone to give a present to the birthday person. It's definitely not about being awkward, or embarrassed if you don't. Chipping in the dollar for the birthday cake, it's also part of gifting.

Even the person who's not very close to you, by sending him/her a small gift shows your sincerity in sending your wishes but at the same time it can be an opportunity of sending your gratitude to that person to how he/she had helped you before. (For eg. the person might had inspired you by suggesting ideas to you, helped you print your assignments, bought your mounting boards, cut your boards, commented on your designs and really many more) These are a few little things that our classmates have done for us without asking for returns. Haha, sorry if I'm going too emotional on this. But I think we should be appreciative of what we have around us and not taking them for granted.

So my point is maybe instead of just chipping the money and let the birthday coordinator do the job of buying the gifts for the birthday people, isn't it better where we get to choose individual gifts for them? And here you can include personal notes in as well.

It doesn't have to be all huge and pricey. It's really the sincerity that counts!

Maybe we can just try this for a few months more? If it's really getting on too much on our expense, we can go back to the old system! :)

And lastly, after much discussion, change of plans! Please get ready May's birthday babies's presents by Tuesday yeah? We'll start decorating the boxes on Tuesday too. And i know u guys just paid 10 bucks for the Hive fund, but we'll need u guys to chip in $1 more again for the birthday as we have 2 May babies. So sorry guys. ):

And, please remember to bring a thermometer on Monday too yeah?
