Come with constructed mock-up (make a construction of your proposed CTB) and a moodboard to show art direction that shows layout, photography/illustration and typography and your colour palette. Sorry for the late update! Too busy YNTUC-ing. Sheesh. 1) YNTUC brochure assignment is due this Wednesday at 9am. Includes: - Mock-up of proposed artwork

2) MLP test is on Friday, 9am. Venue: T2012 3) CC's CA3 due on Friday too, before 5pm, submit at T19214. Includes: - Concept paper

Crowbar

Congrats on been shortlisted. You are strongly encourage to take attend the crowbar award dinner. For grads, you will still pay for the students price. (I had checked with 4As)
For those who want to go and support your friends, you are welcome to attend the dinner too!... but you will need to pay!! ;)

For purchase of tickets, you will have to approach 4A on your own.

Shirlynn also mentioned that all are encouraged to attend the Crowbar Seminar that will be held at NYP.

*Admission is free for all full-time students.
To secure a seat, please send in your registration form before 12 August.
Since admission is free, we are encouraged to attend the seminar. The invited speakers will be different from last year's which was held in SP. Those who wish to attend, please drop me a note, so that i can collate the numbers and give it to Shirlynn tomorrow, which she will then pass it to 4As. However, you will still need to reserve a seat for yourself by contacting 4As personally. The same applies to the Award dinner.
The last day for for securing a seat for the seminar is actually today, 12 August. But oh well..just go anyway.
And the last day for ticket sales for the Award Dinner is this friday, 14 August. So, hurry now! Hope to get your replies by tonight, or latest tomorrow! Thanks!

Deletion of post
Hey class, I decided to delete the post regarding the unwanted situation because I think it's inappropriate for it to be placed up here. Furthermore, I don't think any class politics will bring about any class camaraderie that we are known for. Besides, it's between Melanie and Li Juan so let them settle things themselves. I hope that in future, complications like this will be rare and that we'll all get along like we always did. Thanks. AML.

Please note that the assignment deadline is as follow: 19 August 2009 (Wednesday) 9.00am sharp Hive 2 Submission requirements are as per standards of all BDS submissions: Mock-up of Proposed Artwork (1 unit) Mounted Artwork, both sides (1 side each) on a minimum A3 Mounting Board, Labelled Development Report, A4, Bound (No loose pieces will be accepted) CD-Rom containing all Working Files and Report Contents, Labelled Please find notes on Brochure Design as supplements for your research and development in place of the Monday lecture we miss due to the National Day Public Holiday in the BB's Learning Resources Tab; Supplementary Notes + Creative Briefs. Also find a sample Creative Brief I drafted based on what I learnt of the client's requirements. Please note that it may NOT be comprehensive. You should make the necessary amendments, as per briefed by the client during their presentation at lecture last Monday, and work your creatives according to what you picked up at the client briefing. You will need to train to pick requirements from the clients themselves, and not have briefs spoon-fed to you. Just in case some of you couldn't read the mail, in some way or another, here's the email that Azhar sent: I hope this email finds you well. Two announcements for today. ONE On Monday, please come at 9.00 am for BDS lecture instead of 8.00 am. Mr Nicholas Paul from Young NTUC will be there to make an introduction of Young NTUC to you, and to communicate his brief to you. Please sit in the brief as this will give you the opportunity to set your brief right, and to clear any doubts you may have on this brief. As a guide, I have attached an empty Creative Brief in this email. The Creative Brief contains questions that we agencies typically ask our clients before setting out to design our creatives. You may refer to them to ask Mr Nicholas questions. You may also prepare questions of your own to ask him too. Once the briefing session is over, you should start on your creative process to crack this brief. TWO This announcement is for 01 only. For your BDS studio on Monday, please report straight at the Vanda Room (near FC 5, beside the SP swimming pool) at 3.00 (it ends at 5.00 pm), instead of 1.00 pm at Hive Studio 2. There will be an invitational speaker from the Shooting Star Gallery to speak to students about the media industry. He is also there to judge a photography competition. He will share with students his experience in making TV commercials using photography techniques and some commercials including M1 and HP. I have given the total number of 18 for the talk, and therefore attendance is compulsory. Cerlyn/Karl is to take attendance for the afternoon.
